About the artist
Maya Ananta
Maya Ananta (b. 1989, Surabaya) paints from long observation — months of looking at a single stretch of coast, a rooftop, a room at a certain hour. Her canvases are quiet on purpose: she wants visitors to slow down.
Her work has been shown at biennials and galleries across Southeast Asia, and is held in private collections in Jakarta, Singapore and Melbourne. The Long Quietis her first solo exhibition in four years.
